| Graduation 2008 WEB graduations are a joyous, inspiring, and even raucous celebration attended by family, friends, and local dignitaries. As each of our 145 graduates and their new businesses were announced at the June 23 event, the audience erupted with cheers and applause. The very audible support acknowledged the hard work and dedication required to complete WEB's intensive twelve-week training program. The class of 2008 joins the ranks of the more than 1800 businesses created by WEB graduates since 1989. See the latest list of WEB-built businesses. |

On August 23, 2008, the Baltimore Examiner featured WEB CEO Joanne Saltzberg in its continuing CREDO column, a series that highlights people and organizations changing Baltimore for the better. “The reason I’m so committed to micro-enterprise and to WEB is because it’s a practical, cost-effective and measurable way to boost women’s income. And when you boost women’s income, you boost her family and community from poverty or near-poverty to some kind of economic stability.
